The Woooorst!!!

Ah, yes. I'm finally back.
It has been a whirlwind of indecision on my part. Due to life, the universe, and everything, I was waffling on what the future of Moon's Creations would be, or even if there would be a Moon's Creations.

After much mulling during the past two conventions, I have finally decided to move my company forward, by taking a step back. I have to realize I am a human who is the provider for two little humans. I can't be all the things. It's impossible and so I have decided to stop carrying most of my made-to-order listings.

Through the September, I will be working on a few patterns, such as my Hogwarts animals. I plan to have the patterns available for purchase before the holiday season gets into full swing. I will also list a few of the dolls every so many months as my schedule allows for those who can't or don't want to crochet their own dolls.

All new dolls will be in limited releases. Dolls will be previewed first on my Patreon page on Tuesday, then social media sites on Wednesday, with a Thursday release.

Every month, I will accept a limited number of custom orders, because I really love making them.

So, that's it! Oddly, this is the original set up for my store. You will be seeing changes almost immediately. All dolls which are made to order will stay in my store until they sell out or expire. I have a few delicious custom orders to work on this weekend and plan to have new dolls left over from the past two conventions join my shop next week.

Thank you for your patience with me. I promise I won't let you down.

Made to Order

Over the month of January, new “Made to Order” listings will be appearing at Moon’s Creations. These are designs which I have made in the past.

Previously, I have kept a large stock of dolls on hand. This has become a huge time sink for me as I’ve increased my inventory. Spending so much of my time restocking dolls, which may or may not sell, has kept me from stocking fun designs I have wished to revisit. I want to change this in the new year.

Productivity will greatly benefit from this change, because I’ll have more time to devote on dolls people truly want and not dolls I think people will like. In addition, this move will free up studio time to create entirely new dolls.

“Made to Order” dolls will take 1 to 2 weeks to ship. Because these dolls will be made as they are ordered, I will be able to offer small custom  changes, such as yarn color. Orders placed containing stock and “Made to Order” items will ship together to save on shipping fees.

Here’s to a fantastic New Year and lots of new Moon Buns!

13 Buns of Halloween - Mummy Moon Bun

https://www.etsy.com/listing/208156179/mummy-moon-bun-amigurumi-bunny-rabbit
This one made me laugh. The goofy and totally non-threatening expression makes me cackle.

I made comment on other sites about mummy's curses, but maybe I should have warned myself. Swipey (our baby girl) has thrown her sleep schedule to the wind and I am exhausted. Our Bun (2 year old boy) in an act of solidarity seems to have decided to fight naptime. Ah well, at least they're cute.

I'm Back!

Thanks to everyone for their kind support, I'm back online and slowly getting all the programs up and running on the new computer.

The amount of work ahead of me is a little overwhelming, but one thing at a time. Thank you for your patience!

As a big thank you, I'll have a mini-event this October, The 13 Days of Halloween. Running on weekdays, starting on October 14th, I'll post a special Moon Bun celebrating Halloween and my wonderfully supportive followers.

Vacation Times!

Just a reminder my darlings, I'll be closing shop tonight to start my stay-cation through the 27th, while I refresh and recharge my creativity. Just the thought of letting my mind rest has already resulted in some great ideas!

I'll be back at the end of January with new designs.

State of the Moon

Whew!
I can't believe it's already been a week since AnimeNext. Where has the time gone?

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the table, gave a Moon Bun a home, and especially for all the birthday wishes! A huge THANK YOU to pronouncedyou for tending my table all weekend! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Sadly, going to this convention showed me that I need to take a step back from shows for a while and be a mom. I'll still honor my commitments to Otakon and Nekocon, if I get in, but after those two I won't be at any more until BabyBun is older. I'll still try one day, craft show-like events, but these 3 day affairs are too much stress.

As for goings on here, BabyBun has mastered the art of crawling and is really pushing the learning-to-walk thing, so I've barely a moment's peace and zero time in the BunnyMines. My plan is to photograph convention leftovers as soon as the weather agrees (what is with these storms?), then restock basic Moon Buns, and after that work on other designs.

If you're waiting for me to open commissions, the wait is almost over. I fully expect to be able to take them on towards the end of June. Keep watching for more details!

O-Jizou-sama

Welcome to a month of Fairy Tales! This month, Moon's Creations will be creating one unique design throughout the month of May. Enjoy this fun series!

O-Jizou-sama, is one of the most loved of all Japanese divinities. His statues are a common sight, especially by roadsides and in graveyards. Traditionally, he is seen as the guardian of children, and in particular, children who died before their parents.

In Kasajizou, a Japanese fairy tale, Jizou rewards an elderly man and his wife for their kindness, when the man places hats and his own head wrapping on the O-Jizou-sama statues along the road.
Read more about this tale here.
  Read more about O-Jizou-sama here.

Available at Moon's Creations!

(I will likely make a few additional O-Jizou-sama dolls for the shop in the future. As you may or may not know, I suffered much with my fertility and we lost many children over the years. It felt good to make this doll and I hope similar ones will offer comfort for others who have likewise suffered.)

Thank You!

It's Thanksgiving in the United States and I am most thankful to you. Yes, you! You there reading this blog.

It is you who have provided me with the support, encouragement, and love to continue working at Moon's Creations to support my family. We may have scary months when bills are high and paychecks are low, but we always manage to land on our feet. It's only because of you that we can do have done it and continue to do it.

Thank you!

Canceling this year's 31 Amigurumi in October series

Good morning!

It is with a heavy heart that I must cancel this year's 31 Amigurumi in October series. While I have a few pieces finished, I don't feel I would have the time/energy to get them all complete without the quality suffering. I plan to make up for it with a month long event later in 2013.

Thank you for your understanding!

Just one more week!

Just one week left until Moon's Creations closes it's doors for at least 2 months as we welcome our little Moon Bun into the world.

This means you have only 1 week left to pick up pieces in the Moon's Creations shop. Pieces are not being relisted. What's currently in the shop, is all that's left. Please be sure to get what you want now. I cannot guarantee pieces will be there when we return, as I'm using this maternity leave to revamp the entire store.

Momma Moon's got an entire nursery to put together for the August arrival and hasn't had the chance with running Moon's Creations, so I'm definitely looking forward to a little nesting.

What's up, Moons?

My goodness! Where did January go?
I feel like I've been underground in the Bunny Mines for far too long.

So what's been going on behind the scenes, you ask?

Well, I've been working on my last custom order from the previous order period and should be done this week.

I'm also preparing for the anime convention, Katsucon. This convention is held at the National Harbor in Maryland and will be from February 17 - 19.

Following Katsucon, I will be releasing several new designs I've been quietly working on. I really think everyone will enjoy these new pieces.

I will also be opening up custom orders again!
Please look forward to a blog post on how the process takes place so you are prepared. Once I start accepting custom orders, announcements will be posted on all of my social networks as well as in my shop announcements. (The best place to look is on Twitter, as that's updated the fastest.)

Back to work for me. I've missed our chats.

Someone's ready for a new school year!

It's Mr. Pencil!
This plucky little pencil loves writing puns and performing long division.

Sorry for forgetting to post this earlier. It seems we had a bit of rumbling in Virginia. The Moon Buns and I are all safe and sound. :)

Movin' right along!

Still slowly recovering from after convention illness and exhaustion, but I'm doing better.

Last week, I sat down in the Bunny Mines and just sat. I had no desire to even touch my hooks. The idea of touching amigurumi was just detestable after the months of constant crocheting in preparation for the show.

Instead, I picked up my knitting needles. Many of you may not know, but I'm originally a knitter. It's a hobby I truly love and it was so relaxing just to fall into it. I've been making a few reusable shopping bags, for personal use, because I'm sick to the teeth of plastic bags in my house.

Now that I feel fully recovered and back in love with amigurumi, I've been photographing pieces to be listed, creating some new designs, and working on some exciting plans for October. *wink*wink*

So what do you do when you've fallen into a funk or over-done it with a passion?

Shop Closing!

Moon's Creations will be closing at 7pm EDT on 14 July through 1 August, while I busily prepare for the last push before Otakon.

Thank you for your understanding.

I hope to have lots of photos of new items to share with you very soon. These new items and re-designed items will be introduced at Otakon, but you can get a sneak peek here. They will be added to the shop upon our return from Baltimore.

Duncan!

In the distance, what is that?

 It's Duncan! :D
He hasn't made an appearance in a while, so here's Duncan!
This is my little bunny I rescued from being trapped in a window well that was too deep for him to escape.

Duncan loves to beat up the cat's cardboard scratching pad. He'll pick it up with his mouth and throw it around.

Here he is resting in his clean hutch.

I wish I had more photos to share, but most of them ended up being brown blurs as he tore around the house.

Quail Eggs

This Saturday, we visited our local Farmer's Market and found several wonderful local foods, including...

  Quail Eggs!
(chicken vs. quail)

Some are larger and some are smaller.

Every time I open my refrigerator, I just coo over their tiny adorableness.

Today is a sad day

This morning, my beloved dog, Emma, was hit by a car and had to be put down.
She was a very good dog.

I'm very sorry, but orders may experience a small delay.

Ball-joint Dolls and Moon Buns

Those who have popped by my flickr account, may have noticed I collect Ball-Joint Dolls. The baby-sized Moon Buns were made specifically because I wanted my dolls to have their own Moon Buns.

Sometimes my dolls find their ways into photo shoots like these:

For Facebook users, I just noticed there is a counter on the Moon's Creations' Facebook Fanpage. If we're able to get 500 people to like the page, we'll have a special sale!

Back in the Saddle!

Whew! After a week of recovery, cleaning and a little crocheting here and there, I'm happy to announce new Moon Bun designs are complete and just need photographing!

Groundhog's Day!
Lunar New Year!
Valentine's Day!

Hooray for new designs!

After all of these holiday pieces, I think I might even make a few unique pieces just for fun.

Holiday Schedules

Hello!

I just wanted to make it known, that I will be putting Moon's Creations on vacation from December 22nd - December 26th. I will be visiting with my family and remembering my sister, Susan.
