New in the shop! Buzzy Bumble Bees

After the wonderful response I received from everyone about the pieces I made for the "Colors" artbook, I've finally made some new bees for the shop!

These tiny bees are so adorable! I love their little smiles best.

Or maybe it's because I can fit so many in the palm of my hand!

Buzzy Bumble Bees are at Moon's Creations now!

Meet Duncan

Last week, I rescued this little guy. He was trapped in a deep window well at my day job.

It was a good thing he was found, because the following week was filled with icy conditions and flood-inducing rain.

I had waited on introducing him, because we were looking for an owner, hoping he hadn't been abandoned. However with all the weather of last week and not a peep, I think is safe to say Ducan has a new home.

Sorry for the lousy photo, I snapped this in the morning, as he was having breakfast. Aww, sleepy Duncan!

Behind the Scenes: Preview

Sorry, guys. No photos today. The camera batteries died the other day and I can't find my charger. It's somewhere safe, if only I could remember where that safe place is.

I've got a lot of new designs in the works for this coming week.

You can expect to see:

♥ Bees! ♥
All of your requests for individual bees has been heard. They will be available next week. I promise!

♥ Valentine's Day inspired Moon Buns! ♥
I've been dragging my feet on these. Sorry!

♥ Zombie Moon Buns! ♥
I'm planning to rework the design and add a few more colors.

The best part is, this is just a preview! If I can squeeze more time I should have many more pieces! Keep your eyes on this blog or on Moon's Creations.

Comfort Moon Bun

This is a very special Moon Bun that was created in memory of my sister. Comfort holds three purple flowers, symbolizing memories, friendship and family. She is filled with a mix of polyfil and organic lavender flowers. The scent of lavender is said to sooth, calm and comfort.

Helping those in Haiti

I'm sure many of you have already heard about the earthquake in Haiti.
If you're looking for a way to help, there are two very good organizations you can donate to.

The first is Yele.org. This is a charitable organization formed by the singer Wyclef Jean. They also offer the option of texting "YELE" to 501501 and donating $5.

The second is The Red Cross. They also offer the option of texting “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti.

Please help if you can.

New Year = New Moon Buns

I've been wanting to make this Moon Bun set ever since I started Moon's Creations and finally here it is! This is a one-of-a-kind (OoAK) piece that depicts the Asian Legend of the Moon Rabbit.

The Moon Rabbit, is a rabbit that lives on the moon in East Asian folklore. The legends about the moon rabbit are based on the markings of the moon, which appear to be a rabbit pounding in a mortar. In Japanese folklore, the rabbit is pounding mochi. Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape. While eaten year-round, mochi is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year.

I also made 7 additional Moon Buns for New Years. Each is wearing a vest made of vintage kimono fabrics and with a New Year's Mochi cake. Here are a few of my favorites!

I love this fabric!
