October 31:

Clue Moon Buns!

Available at Moon's Creations

I've always, ALWAYS wanted to make a Clue set of Moon Buns, so this was a particular favorite for me. I adore the movie and watched it way too many times while preparing these designs.

Thank you for sticking with me for another 31 Amigurumi in October. I hope you'll stick around throughout next year as I design more dolls!

Freddy Kreuger Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

This is yet another remake, but he's so adorable! I love making big baddie bad guys look so sweet. I can just see him trying to snuggle up to you to make you sleep. "Go to sleep human. I'm gonna kill you." Aww!

Because I love you so, here's a bit of a warning. Tomorrow's design is several dolls which will be sold individually, rather than in a set. Since I'll be leaving for my show tomorrow, I'll be taking all of the dolls with me to offer for sale at the show. As dolls are sold out, I'll remove them from my shop, so if you see dolls you like, I highly recommend you buy them right away. They may go fast. <3 br="">

October 29:

Willy Wonka Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory scared the bejeez out of me as a child. Today I really enjoy the film, but as a little Moon, I refused to watch it. Too scary. haha!

October 28:

Patrick Bateman Moon Bun from American Psycho

Available at Moon's Creations.

I'll let you in on something. I hated Patrick Bateman's character. I guess he was easily hate-able, so to be a jerk to him I made his collar slightly askew. I bet that little bunny is fuming. hee hee!

October 27:

Scott Howard Moon Bun

In the 80's we had a movie called, Teen Wolf, starring Michael J. Fox. I hear there's a modern television version now, but this Moon Bun is a fan of the 80's.

Available at Moon's Creations

: + :

This weekend, November 1-3, I will be at Nekocon in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This will be my last 3-day convention for several years until BabyBun is a bit older. My Etsy shop will remain open over the weekend and all orders will be filled and shipped out on Monday, November 4th.

October 26:

Elvira Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

Sorry for the fly-by post today, I've got family visiting and I can't be gone long. Have a great Sunday, bunny-fans!

October 25:

Columbus Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations

Talk about bad planning! To Moon Buns, back-to-back, each with a shotgun and a blue shirt. Sometimes I don't think when I lay out my plans. Sheesh!

October 24:

Ash Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

This is a groovy little remake of Ash from Army of Darkness and Evil Dead. This year, I ran across My Name is Bruce and ever since, I've been a rather big fan of Bruce Campbell. haha!

October 23:

The Sanderson Sisters Moon Buns

Available at Moon's Creations.

I've been wanting to make these ladies for years and finally they're here. From the movie, Hocus Pocus, it's the Sanderson sisters!

Mary's hair was the hardest for me. It looks like just a twirl, but trying to get all that "hair" to do it was really a doozie. Sarah's clothing was the hardest, because her clothing is very detailed with a lace overlay. I chose to simplify it instead with hints of the corset top to keep her fitting with the other two.

October 22:

Dr. Frank N. Furter Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations

This is sorta a remake, in that I made a Frank for the 31 Amigurumi in October, 2008. I ended up remaking that design in a larger form for this year's Plush You! in Seattle. Since I concentrated on silly horror films, I had to include Frank again.

This time he's wearing my favorite outfit. I don't know I just love him in the green medical gown wearing those fantastic pink gloves. Sadly, I had to abandon the gloves because Moon Buns don't have hands, but I still love this outfit.

October 21:

Gizmo Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

While I like how Gizmo turned out, Mr. Moons likened his look to a Moon Bun in a skinned Mogwai fur. :( He's so mean sometimes. I hope you like him!

October 20:

The Blob Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

Can you believe I've been wanting to make a blob Moon Bun since 2008. Craziness! I'm really happy with how this one came out. I love the melty look of the bunny, including the lower eye and ear.

October 19:

Mothra Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations

I'm a big fan of giant monster movies from Japan. Mothra has to be my number 2 favorite. Number 1 is Rodan. (Though he didn't make the cut for this year's series.) Mothra was a lot of fun to make, mostly because it meant I got to watch Mothra vs. Godzilla several times.

October 18:

Little Shop of Horrors Moon Buns

Available at Moon's Creations

Today's design is a remake, but when I was making my list of silly horror films, this one stood out. It doesn't help that I tend to watch this movie at least once a month and am always singing the songs. Sadly, BabyBun is not impressed with this musical and prefers The Producers.

We're actually having a minor crisis at the Bunny Mines this week. I can't find my camera battery charger. It's been missing since I visited my parents and I hope to goodness I didn't leave it up there. I only have 2 more days worth of photos and then I'm sunk. Cross your fingers I find it bunny fans!

October 17:

Jason Voorhees Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

This is another remake design, but as with most of my remakes, this one was one that dearly desired a remake with a higher skill level. His little goalie mask is fully removable and I think looks much more menacing.

October 16:

October 16: Tucker and Dale Moon Buns

Available at Moon's Creations.

I just recently discovered Tucker and Dale vs. Evil and love it! You should watch it too if you haven't. Although, I'm a big fan of Alan Tudyk and all he does.

We're at the halfway point in the 31 Amigurumi in October series. I hope you've enjoyed the series so far!

+ : + : +

To everyone in the Cincinnati Area!
There will be a mini MakerFaire this weekend!
Not familiar with MareFaire, find out more here! These events are crazy fun. The Plush Team will have a booth and there are Moon Buns! Moon Buns loose in Cincinnati! What will we do?!?! Buy those bunnies up! Give them homes and feed them milk tea! Hooray!

October 15:

Skeksis

Available at Moon's Creations.

Let's just say, Jim Henson movies scared the hell out of me as a child. Most of them I refused to watch again until I was in my 20's. Skeksis. Those things scared me so badly.
Although, this little guy is pretty cute. I had fun making him and piling on the layers.

This is also the only non-Moon Bun, because putting bunny ears on a Skeksis was too silly. haha!

October 14:

Beetlejuice Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canada! I hope all of my Canadian friends are enjoying their festivities and family. I'm very thankful for all of you!

I've been wanting to re-make a Beetlejuice design. The first one I did was in 2009. I love how he looks with my improved skills. It always amazes me how far Moon Bun have come.

October 13:

David Lo Pan Moon Bun from Big Trouble in Little China

Available at Moon's Creations.

I'm not sure about you, but Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorite movies to watch late at night. When you have the giggles, nothing is more silly than this movie.

October 12:

Gamera Moon Bun

Now Available at Moon’s Creations

There's something about Saturdays. I always just want to sit around and watch giant monster movies. Who's with me! Yay!

October 11:

Melanie Daniels Moon Bun with Two Black Birds
Available at Moon’s Creations

Ugh! I know! I'm a terrible planner. Can you believe I actually wrote all my designs down and managed to organize 3 remakes in a row. I'm kicking myself over it

Anyway, I'm very, very pleased with this design and so happy to get the chance to remake it with my newer styles. (The birds especially.) If this set doesn't sell, I won't be broken hearted. It's one of my favorites so far.

October 10:

Pinhead Moon Bun

Now available at Moon's Creations!

Ah! I know two remakes in a row! But I really have wanted to remake this guy. I mean look at that widdle puzzle box.

October 9:

Shaun and Ed Moon Buns from Shaun of the Dead.

Available at Moon’s Creations

How’s that for a slice of fried gold? This set is a re-designed piece from the 2008 31 Amigurumi in October series and I'm thrilled to finally make it. I'd always wanted to work more detail into the design and include their weapons, but only recently have upgraded my skills in mini weapon making.

October 8:

Alien Moon Bun from They Live
Available at Moon's Creations!

From one of my personal favorite SciFi Films of the 1980's, They Live, it's one of the ruling class aliens who has infiltrated our world. (Obey, Consume, Sleep, Buy, Do Not Question Authority, Conform)

Features include hand-painted silver eyes, red skin markings, feathered 80's hair, white "teeth", and a shirt with a different collar (those were big with 80's office workers then. Why was that?)

And because I can't make a They Live doll without also quoting one of the best lines in movie-dom, " I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum."

October 7:

Jareth, the Goblin King Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations!

This design was a challenge for me, because I could have easily gone overboard with details and lost the simplistic design I strive for with my Moon Buns, but I think I captured a good balance.

October 6:

It's an Alfred Packer Moon Bun from Cannibal the Musical. Shpadoinkle!
Now available at Moon’s Creations

I really enjoy this movie more than I should. And yes, I know Packer never ate the foot, but when I showed the option to my husband (or The Moon Bun Inspector) he started to laugh, so I choose to put it in.

October 5:

Godzilla Moon Bun

Available at Moon's Creations
This is a "remake" of a doll I originally tried to make in 2007. When I compare my skill set from then versus now. Wow! What a difference. I'm so happy to be offering this updated version. He's more Godzilla-y.

I hope you're enjoying the 31 Amigurumi in October series so far.

October 4:

If you're blue, and you don't know where to go to, why don't you go where fashion sits...
'UTTIN' ON THE 'IIIIITZ.

October 4: Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster Moon Buns are available at Moon's Creations

Seriously, one of my absolute favorites. :)

October 3:

Pee-wee Herman Moon Bun. Available at Moon's Creations

Am I seriously the only person who was scared by Pee-wee's Big Adventure as a child? I love it now, but wow! That Large Marge scared the bejeez out of me.

October 2:

Sloth and Chunk Moon Buns from The Goonies. Available at Moon's Creations

Points to note:
Sloth's one misshapened ear. Chunk's jacket is crooked and disheveled.

October 1:

Let the 31 Amigurumi in October series begin!

It’s the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. (“Well you don’t see that everyday.”) Available at Moon’s Creations!

 ♥

Sorry for being so distant! I can't believe I haven't updated over a month. Shame! Shame! I've just been busy trying to get work done and manage a constantly mobile little BabyBun.
I promise I'll drop in more regularly! I love you all!
