The Ferryman is from the German fairy tale, The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs. This story is about a boy who is blessed by fate. The story is definitely worth a read and much longer than I can easily sum up here, but once you've read it, you'll understand my desire to make the Ferryman (or at least I hope you will.) (I will likely make a few additional O-Jizou-sama dolls for the shop in the future. As you may or may not know, I suffered much with my fertility and we lost many children over the years. It felt good to make this doll and I hope similar ones will offer comfort for others who have likewise suffered.)
