31 Amigurumi in October: Day 5

Today's 31 Amigurumi in October doll is the ultra adorable Mimikyu! I loved making this doll. It was so fun. This doll was reserved for a Patreon patron. Today's prompt for the October Create a Day was "Halloween Candy." Now when I think of halloween candy, I immediately think of candy corn. I like it until November, but what about you? Do you like candy corn or do you hate when you find it in your trick or treat bag?

Asking for Trouble

I've been a fan of Asking for Trouble for a while now. The designs aesthetic sings to my soul. Simple and cute.  So when Marceline announced she was offering 10 year anniversary blind boxes, I couldn't say no.

I'd been dragging my feet about spending money and missed out on her super cute Fuji-san enamel pins, so I couldn't pass this chance up. (Argh! Hopefully she will remake them.) But I was so happy when I got my box. Look at this cuteness! She drew a unique character on each box making the  number 10. Inside was a Fried Egg enamel pin, a Little Ghost fabric patch, a Planet paper cut, a Bunny & Panda craft paper, 2 Happy Stars, a Happy Cloud badge, an Asking for Trouble pencil, two 10 year anniversary stickers, a 10 year anniversary postcard, and a mini zine.

What a box! So much great stuff and as a mega-woah bonus! I won a golden ticket! Which means I got to pick a free mug from the Marceline Smith Redbubble shop! Of course I had to go with Fuji-san! Here he is brewing up some tea while I get the children's lesson plans in order.

I feel so lucky and yeah, I'm going to be buying more things from Asking for Trouble in the future. 

What's even more lovely is Marceline is a huge supporter of all things cute and has runs her own blog about all things cute, Super Cute Kawaii. You should definitely be following all of her blogs. So much cute!

31 Amigurumi in October: Day 4

Today is the 31 Amigurumi in October's very first Psychic-type Pokemon. While browsing through the lists of Psychic-types, I really wanted to make an Unown Moon Bun. I don't know of any big fan of the Unown, they're kinda dull and weird. (I mean were they just trying to expand the Pokedex with anything?) But I liked the idea of them gathering together like a swarm on a Moon Bun, and so the Unown Moon Bun was born!

Today's October Create a Day prompt was Skeleton. I love how this challenge is mostly me remaking old designs. I enjoy re-visiting dolls I've made in the past. Sometimes I improve them. Other times it's more like a visit with an old friend over tea. This was one of those tea visit designs. I enjoy seeing how the mouth will end up. Skeleton Moon Buns never smile exactly the same.

31 Amigurumi in October: Day 3

 Today's 31 Amigurumi in October doll is Sneasel! It's my very first Dark Pokemon of the series so far. I'm not sure if I captured the original as well as I'd like. May too cute. haha! Oh, well. The challenge is to make a doll a day. Some are going to be better than others and it's something I have to accept.

Today's October Create a Day challenge, the prompt was Black Cat, so I made just that. But I had to throw my own spin on things by giving the kitty crazy eyes. If you're a cat owner, you know that look. Any moment, that cat is going to go tearing down the hallway.

31 Amigurumi in October: Day 2

Today's 31 Amigurumi in October doll is Banette. This one was a little harder for me than I originally expected it to be. It's based on my Cat design, so not technically a Moon Bun. This is definitely a better in person doll. I had a lot of trouble photographing the front and including any aspect of the tail or hood. Bah! I'm a terrible photographer anyway.

The October Create a Day prompt was “trick or treat” and my mind when down the road of what if a Moon Bun disguised itself as candy so it could eat up the Halloween candy? And so I created a Candy Sneak Moon Bun. My children helped pick out the colors.

31 Amigurumi in October: Day 1

Ah!
I'm back! This is the first year I have returned to making a doll everyday for the month of October since having children. Yikes!

I'm thrilled to present the first doll, Chandelure Moon Bun!

This year, the Moon Buns are dressing up as their favorite Ghost, Psychic, and Dark type Pokemon. Keep watching all month to see if your favorite is featured.

Now, because I have zero self-control and also a high guilt level I decided to take part in the #octobercreateaday challenge on Instagram, where people create a design for every day in the month of October.

(So let me get this right, I'm going to be making 62 unique dolls this month? Oh yeah. Glutton for punishment!)

The first prompt was "ghosts," so here is a Ghost Moon Bun!
