Though the Monarch frequently describes himself as Dr. Venture's
nemesis, their rivalry resides almost completely in the Monarch's
imagination. In reality, Dr. Venture considers him more a nuisance than a
genuine threat. His plans against the Venture family are usually
bizarre and fail for a number of sad reasons.
