Hello! Hello!

I hope the new year has been treating you well. At Moon's Creations we are moving a change in appearance! Check out this fantastic new store banner. I have one for each season. (This makes me so happy I just can't help squeeing every time I visit the shop.)

After having a successful show at MagFest, I returned to the Bunny Mines with a terrible cold. (The worst I've had since I was little.) I've been taking it easy and drink lots of fluids. I'm hoping to be back to full-strength and releasing new designs very soon!

First is the October's Moon Bun of the Month Club's India Moon Bun!

She's a little late for Diwali, but there was a terrible accident while I was working on these, which just reminds me that a tidy Bunny Mines is a less accident prone Bunny Mines. Although I'm very happy with her final design. So cute!

Next are these darling woodland themed ornaments. Tiny acorns and toadstool mushrooms. so fun to have holiday decorations!

Every year, I get so into the 31 Amigurumi in October series, I completely forget to make regular Halloween pieces. This year, I'm hoping to fix that with an upload every Monday through Friday until September 23rd.

They may not be Halloween items every time, because I have a few designs that have been sitting on the back burner waiting to join the shop, but for the most part, they will be Halloween-inspired. Octo-buns are identified with their perky bunny ears and eight squiggly legs. They prefer warm waters and live on a diet of strawberry cake and vanilla milkshakes.

Still slowly recovering from after convention illness and exhaustion, but I'm doing better.

Last week, I sat down in the Bunny Mines and just sat. I had no desire to even touch my hooks. The idea of touching amigurumi was just detestable after the months of constant crocheting in preparation for the show.

Instead, I picked up my knitting needles. Many of you may not know, but I'm originally a knitter. It's a hobby I truly love and it was so relaxing just to fall into it. I've been making a few reusable shopping bags, for personal use, because I'm sick to the teeth of plastic bags in my house.

Now that I feel fully recovered and back in love with amigurumi, I've been photographing pieces to be listed, creating some new designs, and working on some exciting plans for October. *wink*wink*

So what do you do when you've fallen into a funk or over-done it with a passion?

This is a celebration of the life and work of Douglas Adams, including The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. To celebrate, I've created these special designs!

Dolphin

Ok, this one may need a little explaining, so I'll turn to the text:

"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much — the wheel, New York, wars and so on — whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man — for precisely the same reasons.

Curiously enough, the dolphins had long known of the impending destruction of the planet Earth and had made many attempts to alert mankind of the danger; but most of their communications were misinterpreted as amusing attempts to punch footballs or whistle for tidbits, so they eventually gave up and left the Earth by their own means shortly before the Vogons arrived.

It's Duncan! :D

He hasn't made an appearance in a while, so here's Duncan!

This is my little bunny I rescued from being trapped in a window well that was too deep for him to escape.

Duncan loves to beat up the cat's cardboard scratching pad. He'll pick it up with his mouth and throw it around.

Here he is resting in his clean hutch.

I wish I had more photos to share, but most of them ended up being brown blurs as he tore around the house.

Moon's Creations is releasing a book collecting all of the unique designs from the 31 Amigurumi in October, 2010 series. This book contains full-color prints of all 31 Moon Buns inspired by Japanese yokai and obakemono, as well as a description of the monsters.

As a special bonus, the Moon Buns from the 31 Amigurumi in October series 2007 - 2009 are collected in a year book style with insight behind the creative process from previous years.

Preorders will be accepted through April 14th and shipped at the beginning of May, 2011.

This past weekend I spent running the Plush Team retreat.

Moon Bun Pinback Buttons and a call for charity

New in the shop today!

These beautiful and adorable (is there such a word meaning both? beauable? adoraful?) pinback buttons feature the artwork of my favorite artist K. Ryan.

Also, new in the shop are these adorable bunny rabbit origami sets. Each set comes with one large and one small rabbit with a notebook. These sets were created by my best friend to help raise funds for those affected by the disasters in Japan.
